The express purpose is to provide the Client with a professionally designed web page/site. It is imperative that we both understand and agree to the work being contracted. These are the terms of our agreement:

1. Authorisation
The Client is engaging eastwebdesign.co.uk for the specific project of developing and/or improving a World Wide Web site to be installed on the Client's web space on an Internet Service Provider's computer. The Client hereby authorises eastwebdesign.co.uk to access this account, and authorises their Internet Service Provider to provide eastwebdesign.co.uk with "write permission" for the Client's web page directory, cgi-bin directory and any other directories or programs that need to be accessed for this project. The Client also authorises eastwebdesign.co.uk to publicise their completed website to search engines, as well as other web directories and indexes.

2. Website Design
2.1 A non-refundable deposit of 25% will be paid upon signature of this contract.

2.2 Design work will not commence until the deposit is paid.

2.3 Each separate page will be submitted to the Client for approval.

2.4 Should the client request further changes to a page after approval of the design has been given, those changes will be charged for at a rate quoted by and at the discretion of cathywhite.co.uk, according to the amount of changes requested.

2.5 When the website is completed, all outstanding monies will be paid prior to the website being uploaded to it's server and a copy of the design being sent to the client on CD-ROM.

2.6 Every web page designed by eastwebdesign.co.uk will carry an acknowledgement to that fact with a link to the eastwebdesign.co.uk website.

2.7 Website content, with regard to information about the Client's business, will be provided by the Client. Any graphic work will either be provided by the client in .gif or .jpg format, or designed by eastwebdesign.co.uk, according to the Client's wishes.

2.8 Website pages are equivalent in size to one sheet of A4 paper when printed. Content exceeding this amount will be classed as an extra page and charged for accordingly.

2.9 All sites designed by eastwebdesign.co.uk will be submitted to the following search engines: Google, Alta Vista, UK Plus, Yahoo, Excite.

2.10 Submission to search engines does not guarantee inclusion in their directory or a high ranking.

2.11 The website may or may not be included in eastwebdesign.co.uk's portfolio.

3. Website Hosting
3.1 eastwebdesign.co.uk does not provide hosting but will assist the Client with locating a suitable web host.

3.2 Any decisions to be made with regard to selecting a hosting company are down to the Client.

3.3 eastwebdesign.co.uk will not be held responsible for any problems which may or may not occur with regard to the web hosting company chosen by the Client.

4. Domain Name Registration
4.1 eastwebdesign.co.uk does not provide domain name registration but will assist the Client with securing a suitable domain name.

4.2 Any decisions to be made with regard to selecting a domain name registrar are down to the client.

4.3 eastwebdesign.co.uk will not be held responsible for any problems which may or may not occur with regard to the domain name registration company chosen by the Client.

4.4 The Client is responsible for the domain name and future registration renewals.

5. Website Maintenance
All work carried out by cathywhite.co.uk under the website maintenance service will be regarded as updates to information only. Any structural changes will be charged for at a rate quoted by and at the discretion of eastwebdesign.co.uk, according to the amount of changes requested.

6. Completion Date
eastwebdesign.co.uk and the Client must work together to complete the website within the timescale as agreed between eastwebdesign.co.uk and the Client.

7. Payment
Payment shall be made in pounds sterling by way of cash, cheque, money order or bankers draft.

8. Consequential Loss
eastwebdesign.co.uk does not warrant that the functions contained in these web pages will meet the Client's requirements or that the operation of the web pages will be uninterrupted or error free. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the web pages and website is with the Client. In no event will eastwebdesign.co.uk be liable to the Client or any third party for any damages, including any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential or special damages arising out of the operation of or inability to operate these web pages or website, even if eastwebdesign.co.uk has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Despite the best efforts of eastwebdesign.co.uk errors in web page information will occur. At no time will eastwebdesign.co.uk's responsibilities for accidentally including erroneous information extend beyond correcting the error.

9. Copyrights and Trademarks
The Client represents to eastwebdesign.co.uk an unconditional guarantee that all elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork furnished to eastwebdesign.co.uk for inclusion in web pages are owned by the Client, and will not hold eastwebdesign.co.uk responsible for any lawsuit or other action from arising from the use of such elements furnished by the Client.

10. Copyrights to Web Pages
Copyright to the assembled work of web pages produced by eastwebdesign.co.uk is owned by eastwebdesign.co.uk. Upon completion of this contract, all rights owned by eastwebdesign.co.uk as to the design, graphics, and text in this website are assigned to the Client.

11. Sole Agreement
The agreement contained in this "Web Page Design and Maintenance Agreement" constitutes the sole agreement between eastwebdesign.co.uk and the Client regarding this website. Any additional work not specified in this contract must be authorised by a written change order.

The undersigned agrees to the terms of this agreement on behalf of his or her organisation or business.
